The story behind
Sims Circle
A circle built on love, acceptance end connection

Sims Circle was created in memory of Seema, we nicknamed her Sim, she was a sister, a daughter, a friend, and someone who had a special way of making people feel valued for who they were.
Sim cared about people. She loved life, never judged others, and accepted people as they were. She had a way of making people feel that they could simply be themselves, without needing to pretend, explain or be anyone other than who they were.
When we lost Sim to cancer, it left a space that could never truly be filled. But it also left a powerful reminder of the kind of person she was and the difference one person can make through kindness, compassion and the way they treat others.
Sim’s Circle was born from a desire to carry those qualities forward.
Why mental health?
Too many men feel they have to carry life's difficulties alone. Behind the everyday conversations, responsibilities and expectations, there can be pressures that are difficult to talk about.
For many Asian men, opening up can feel particularly difficult. They may worry about being judged, misunderstood, disappointing their families or appearing weak. Sometimes, they simply don't know who to turn to or where to find support that understands their experiences.
Sim’s Circle aims to create welcoming, culturally sensitive spaces where Asian men can talk openly, build meaningful connections, feel understood and find appropriate support without fear of judgement.
Sometimes, being able to listen, connect with others and know you're not alone is a meaningful first step.
Keeping Sim’s spirit alive
Sim’s Circle is more than a name. It represents the values Sim brought into the lives of others: compassion, acceptance, kindness and a love of life. We want to build a community where men feel welcome regardless of their age, background, culture, religion or circumstances.
Her legacy. Our purpose.
This is our way of honouring her — by creating something that reflects how she lived, the care she showed others and the acceptance she gave so freely. A place where men can come as they are. A place where nobody has to pretend to be okay.
Talk. Connect. Belong.
